Nicholas Hoult

Nicholas Caradoc Hoult, born on December 7, 1989, in Wokingham, Berkshire, England, is an English actor known for his versatile roles in both mainstream blockbusters and independent films. He is the son of Glenis, a piano teacher, and Roger Hoult, a commercial pilot. Hoult has three siblings: an elder brother and two sisters, both of whom are actresses.

Hoult began his acting career at a young age, making his screen debut at age six in the 1996 film "Intimate Relations". His breakthrough role came in 2002 when he starred as Marcus Brewer in the comedy-drama "About a Boy" alongside Hugh Grant. He gained further recognition for his performance as Tony Stonem in the E4 teen series "Skins" (2007-2008).

Hoult's transition to adult roles began with the 2009 drama "A Single Man," for which he earned a BAFTA Rising Star Award nomination. He played the mutant Hank McCoy/Beast in the 2011 superhero film "X-Men: First Class," a role he reprised in later installments of the film series. Hoult also starred in the adventure film "Jack the Giant Slayer" (2013) and the romantic comedy "Warm Bodies" (2013).

In 2015, Hoult had a supporting role in the action film "Mad Max: Fury Road" and starred in several independent films before portraying various historical figures. He played Robert Harley in the black comedy "The Favourite" (2018), writer J. R. R. Tolkien in "Tolkien" (2019), and Peter III in the Hulu comedy-drama series "The Great" (2020-2023). His work on "The Great" earned him nominations for two Golden Globes and a Primetime Emmy Award. Hoult also starred in the black comedy "The Menu" (2022).

Outside of film, Hoult voiced Elliot in the 2010 action role-playing game "Fable III" and appeared in the 2009 West End play "New Boy". He supports charitable organizations such as the Teenage Cancer Trust and Christian Aid.

Hoult has been in a relationship with model Bryana Holly since 2017, and they have two children together.
