Nicholas Caradoc Hoult was born in Wokingham, Berkshire, England on December 7, 1989
Nicholas Hoult is an English actor who has featured in various mainstream productions in the American and British film industries. His love for acting began at a young age where he appeared in local theatre productions as a child. He made his screen debut at the age of seven years, starring in Intimate Relations (1996) and several other television programs between 1996 and 2001. His big break came in the 2002 comedy-drama film About a Boy which he was nominated for the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer.
He got critical acclaim and recognition for his role as “Tony Stonem” in the teen comedy-drama series Skins (2007-2008). He transitioned to adult roles with the drama film A Single Man (2009), which earned him a BAFTA Rising Star Award nomination, and Clash of the Titans (2010). The year after, he was cast in the role of mutant “Hank McCoy” in the superhero film X-Men: First Class. He has reprised the role in the subsequent installments of the series. In 2013 he played the lead in Jack the Giant Slayer and Warm Bodies as a zombie. He starred alongside Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy in the film, Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). Other notable films include The Favorite (2018), Tolkien (2019), The Great (2020), and Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021).
As a philanthropist. Nicholas Hoult has been involved in numerous charities that support children. He regularly visits patients supported by these organizations to help promote awareness campaigns. He was appointed the first National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) Young Ambassador and was inducted into the NSPCC Hall of Fame in 2010 for his contributions to the campaign against child cruelty.
