Amber Evangeline Valletta, born on February 9, 1974, in Phoenix, Arizona, is an American model and actress. She began her career as a fashion model, landing her first of 17 American Vogue covers in February 1993. During the 1990s, Valletta reached the status of supermodel, working as the face of brands like Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Escada, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Valentino, Gucci, and Versace. She also signed multimillion-dollar cosmetics contracts with Calvin Klein and Elizabeth Arden.
From 1995 to 1996, Valletta co-hosted the MTV show "House of Style" with her friend and fellow model Shalom Harlow. In the 2000s, she transitioned to acting, with her first major film role as a poltergeist in Robert Zemeckis's supernatural thriller "What Lies Beneath" (2000). Valletta has been married twice, first to Hervé Le Bihan from 1994 to 1996, and then to Olympic volleyball player Chip McCaw from 2003 to 2015. She has a son, Auden McCaw, born in 2000. Valletta has been open about her battle with drug and alcohol addiction, speaking out about it in July 2014. She is actively involved in charitable work, including supporting St. Jude Research Hospital and the Nina Hyde Foundation, which supports women with breast cancer.
