Alexander Richard Pettyfer, born on April 10, 1990, in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England, is a British actor and model. He is the son of Lee Robinson, an actress and interior designer, and Richard Pettyfer, an actor. Pettyfer has a younger half-brother, James Ireland, from his mother's remarriage to Michael J. Ireland.
Pettyfer began his career as a child model at the age of seven, working for brands like Gap and appearing in TV commercials. He attended various private schools, including The Mall School, Lambrook Haileybury, Millfield School, Shiplake College, and the Sylvia Young Theatre School.
His acting debut came in 2005 with the British television production of "Tom Brown's
Schooldays," where he played the lead character, Tom Brown. In 2006, he was cast as Alex Rider in the film "Stormbreaker," based on the novel by Anthony Horowitz. This role earned him nominations for a Young Artist Award and an Empire Award.
