Renowned for his role in the USA Network television series, White Collar, Matt Bomer has been in the film industry for more than two decades now. Born in 1977, the American actor always knew he had a thing for the arts. He credits his parents for understanding and allowing him to pursue his interest. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2001, Bomer made his television debut on the long-running soap opera All My Children. He also landed a recurring guest role on several television shows, including Tru Calling.
He made his film debut in 2005 in the mystery thriller Flightplan, and in 2007 gained worldwide recognition for his leading role in the NBC television series Chuck. Two years later, Matt Bomer landed another lead role in the USA Network Series White Collar lasting to 2014. He played the role of a con artist and thief Neal Caffrey who worked as a criminal informant for the FBI. He featured in supporting roles in the sci-fi thriller, In Time (2011), Magic Mike (2015) and reprised his role in the 2015 sequel, Magic Mike XXL, Winter’s Tale (2014), and The Nice Guys (2016).
He received praise for his performances in the drama films Walking Out, Anything (2017), and the 2018 comedy-drama Papi Chulo. He has won several accolades such as Golden Globe Award, Critics’ Choice Television Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. He was ranked first on TV’s Sexiest Men of 2011 by BuddyTV and third in 2012. An LGBT rights activist, he got married to Simon Halls in 2011 in a private ceremony, and came out as gay in 2012. In his acceptance speech for Steve Chase Humanitarian Award, Matt Bomer thanked Halls and his children for their support.
